‘Breaking the Silence’ has been an inspiring journey towards accommodating aspiring women filmmakers of Bangladesh, and creating a platform to share knowledge of filmmaking.

Sultana’s Dream, in its first phase, under the title of ‘Breaking the Silence,’ had invited proposals from women aged between 15-30 to make films about experiences around sexual abuse. We feel it is important to take back our narratives and tell our stories of resistance and survival. The response was overwhelming as hundreds of women came forward with ground breaking stories to tell. We have selected sixteen persons to participate in this upcoming workshop. After several phases of mentoring we will fund potential film projects.
